Hi Teessiders! Can you believe March is nearly over already? Well, I think it’s fair to say this month has been somewhat peaceful in comparison to February, which was a month full of surprises! We celebrated Pancake Day and Valentines Day, we battled with the ‘Beast from the East’, but perhaps most excitingly, we welcomed a new restaurant to the streets of Middlesbrough.
Olivello is a brand new, exclusive restaurant and bar situated within Linthorpe Village, Middlesbrough. This restaurant brings “a new meaning to all day every day”, by offering breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner!
Inside there is a delicate mix of authentic Italian decor and modern British classics. The leather seats and exposed brick walls, coupled with the copper decor and brass fittings, create a rustic and ambient feel. The indoor tree and twinkly fairy lights make for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, made even more personal with the open pass (meaning you can keep an eye out for your food coming)… and it goes without saying that their selfie mirror is a life saver for those pre-cocktail pics!
The staff were equally as wonderful too. Nothing we asked for was a problem, and they managed to perfect the right balance ensured attentiveness, but refrained from intrusiveness.
Perhaps most importantly, the food. Olivello clearly spent time and effort finalising their menu, as each dish is crafted to perfection. With a menu for everything you can choose from, lasagne or pasta, to pizza or burgers, fish or steak and even gin or rum? And, it goes without saying that the deserts are absolutely to die for… especially the cheesecakes.
